What makes a good boss?

There are lots of qualities that will help make you a better boss, here a few we think are some of the most important.

Friendly
Team leaders who are friendly towards team members tend to get better results.

Reliable
Be reliable and dependable, say what your going to do and do what you say. Lead by example.

Be Positive
Everyone prefers to be surrounded by positive people rather than negative ones. Creating a positive atmosphere help brings the best out in people. Look at every situation as a learning opportunity.

Honesty
Tell the truth, even when it hurts.

Available
Be available when people need you. Team members need to know you are there to help support and guide them.

Empathetic
Be able to feel and understand your teams pains and happiness. By being empathetic you will be able to connect with your team as boss and a person.

Human
Remember people are people, they have feelings, wants, needs, unlike a machine they need human understanding.

Fair
Treat people fairly, do not have favourites, this will upset the non favourites and cause unrest.

Observant
Be observant, take notice of what’s going on around you, how people are behaving, how they are communicating with each other. If you notice something, follow up on it, dont ignore things.

Be a good listener
You have two ears and one mouth for a reason, listen more than you talk.
